<image:title>About - Hi, I’m Courtney!</image:title>
<image:caption>Your certified garden coach and the face behind The Bee & the Blossom. I am passionate about all things plants, nature, backyard conservation, simple living and real food. My goal through this blog and garden coaching business is to weave together my passions in a way that will better connect people to nature and inspire them to live a more sustainable and simple lifestyle. I offer garden coaching, workshops and other various garden services in Deland, FL and surrounding areas. Through the blog you can find helpful posts on all things garden, backyard conservation, simple living, modern homesteading and so much more. A Little Bit About Me I am a Florida native who has always had a strong passion and interest in the natural world and a simpler way of living. My passions led me to pursuing a B.S in Environmental Studies and it was my love for wildlife that got me into gardening. It made me realize that plants, especially native plants, are the key to sustainable ecosystems and that everything is connected and has a purpose. Fast forward to today, I’m intrigued with all things plants and homesteading, consistently soaking up every bit knowledge through research, trial and error. With the help of my husband, I have been slowly transforming our new home into a functioning urban homestead that benefits both people and wildlife. I enjoy making most of my family’s food from scratch and utilizing the healing power of plants and nature. I strive to create a more simple and sustainable lifestyle by growing our own food and cut flowers all while creating a healthy ecosystem full of biodiversity that provides a sanctuary for our local wildlife. When I’m not gardening, you can usually find me in the kitchen, cooking made from scratch meals for my family, spending time with my husband and two daughters or somewhere out in nature stalking bees with a camera lens! The Bee & the Blossom With Florida’s unique ecosystems rapidly disappearing to development and the increasing need for food security I realized that there is a need to guide homeowners toward creating more healthy, sustainable landscapes and lifestyles. This is what led to me to founding The Bee & the Blossom. I love connecting people to nature and their local ecology. So whether someone is looking to lessen their carbon footprint by growing fresh, nutrient dense food right in their own backyard or they want to transform their home into a functioning, sustainable ecosystem full of biodiversity, I am here to help make starting a garden as easy and fun as possible. It is my mission to use my knowledge and years of experience to reconnect people to nature one garden at a time.</image:caption>
